Experience

After teaching English at Woodland High School in Bartow County, I began working as a Professional School Counselor at the College and Career Institute in Douglas County for 6 years. I also hold a Georgia License as a Professional Counselor.  I began working at Villa Rica High School in August of 2019.  

After the bell rings...

I have been married to my husband, Shad, for almost 14 years.  We love to vacation and travel, but we always come back to the place where we grew up--Rockmart, GA. My favorite people call me Aunt Blayne.  We love to spend time with our nephews Jaxon (9) and Jace (6).  We will celebrate 1 year as foster parents our to a 1-and-a-half-year-old baby girl named Letty. 

Try to remember...

I think the greatest tragedy of our generation is living to take a photo for social media with the best filters and 20 aggravated tries to get one perfect photo to post.  Life is messy and photo albums belong at home.  The best memories are not tied to the post that got the most likes or comments; you will never regret unplugging and stepping into the scene rather than trying to get the picture from the sidelines.
