I received a basketball scholarship to the University of West Georgia and also played tennis.  After graduating from West Georgia, I went to Valdosta State as a Graduate Assistant Coach for Womens Basketball.  After finishing my M.Ed at Valdosta, I taught Health/PE at Armuchee High School for 17 years. I was the head girls basketball coach for 14 years and coached track, tennis, and softball for several years.  After leaving Armcuhee, I went to Haralson County High and was the head girls basketball coach for 3 years. I am in my 7th year here at VRHS.

I am a 1991 graduate of Bowdon High School.  This is my 27th year of teaching and coaching.  I have been blessed to teach and coach many wonderful young women and young men.  I will never take for granted the opportunity and responsibility of teaching and molding our youth into productive and successful citizens.  I love spending time with my family, shopping, and supporting the Auburn Tigers. I am married to David Norred and we have one son Cole.
