Valyncia Hurd is the choir director of Villa Rica High School where she conducts all of the VRHS Choirs in addition to the piano techniques courses. Mrs. Hurd received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of West Georgia in 2016 and a Master's of Music Education in the summer of 2023. She has been teaching choral students for eight years in the high school setting. Her students consistently earn superior ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Large Group Performance Evaluations and perform successfully in yearly competitions, festivals, and solo events. She frequently leads her students to the state level of competition. Mrs. Hurd performs with Atlanta’s Collegium Vocale Community Choir and her church choir. She continues to pursue vocal performance opportunities to further strengthen her musical knowledge and teaching techniques.
