Graduation Attire
In an effort to formalize Villa Rica High School's graduation ceremony, students and faculty are asked to unify in formal dress so the graduate, not the attire, is the focus of the event.
All students must follow one of the two listed dress code requirements for the graduation ceremony:
Ladies:
"Sunday", dressy, or semi-formal dress of appropriate length and any color with solid colored shoes. The neckline of the cress should not be visible above the gown,
and the length of the dress must be between mid-thigh and the length of the gown.
Dresses may not have an exposed midriff or cut-outs that expose flesh. It is recommended that ladies wear shoes that are comfortable for walking.
Gentlemen:
Solid colored dress shirt with a collar, with a necktie or bow tie; solid colored dress pants, black socks, and solid colored dress shoes. Jeans, athletic pants, or shorts are not permitted.
**Flip flops and tennis shoes are not permitted for ladies or gentlemen.**
Only VRHS approved stoles/cords awarded by VRHS organizations may be worn with our purple caps and gowns. The honors organizations approved to wear stoles/cords have been determined by the VRHS Leadership Team.
The organizations’ sponsors have provided a list of all students who have been approved to wear these stoles/cords.
No paintings, drawings, or markings of any kind may be made on caps and gowns. Defacing the cap or gown in any way will result in the loss of the privilege of participation in the Commencement Exercise.
ANY SENIOR NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE MANDATORY DRESS CODE FOR GRADUATION WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO MARCH DURING THE COMMENCEMENT EXERCISE.
GRADUATION IS A FORMAL OCCASION AND WILL BE TREATED AS SUCH BY ALL CONCERNED.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE APPROPRIATE CLOTHING FOR GRADUATION,
PLEASE SEE MRS. ROBINSON OR MRS. WEAVER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
