Coach Kenny Thompson is the Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. He played soccer at Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned his varsity letter and was named captain for 3 years. Coach Thompson then attended the University of West Georgia from 1999-2001. He has been involved with youth soccer since his college years through volunteer opportunities with Carroll County Recreation Department. Coach Thompson has also coached for Villa Rica Recreation Department, Villa Rica Youth Soccer, Southern Soccer Academy, Birmingham United, and Georgia Storm. While at Birmingham United, Coach Thompson’s team won the State Cup Championship. He has been a part of the VRHS Soccer program since 2014, serving at the JV Coach and as Varsity Coach since 2019.
