Bio
Hello, my name is Helen Young. I graduated from Salisbury State University in Maryland with my Bachelor's degree in Biology. While at Salisbury, I specialized in estuarine science. When I moved south to Alabama, I worked at Auburn University and continued my work in the fisheries department studying bacterial and viral diseases of freshwater fish. When I moved to Georgia, I attended the University of West Georgia to obtain my teachers certification.
This is my 19th year at Villa Rica High School! We are VR! I actually started as a substitute teacher years ago and loved teaching so much that I attended University of West Georgia to obtain my certification. I started out at VRHS teaching Environmental and Biology and am now teaching Anatomy and Forensics. The students have been wonderful, teaching me new things as I continue to teach them each year.
